While not official, there have been several rumblings about Treyarch’s next installment in the white hot Call of Duty franchise. Specifically, the current rumor is that Treyarch’s Winter 2010 entry into the series will be based around conflicts regarding the Vietnam War.
Speaking with reliable sources, PlanetXbox360 has been able to uncover some more interesting bits of information on the upcoming shooter. Like with the past few Call of Duty titles, Treyarch has relied heavily on technologies and ideas introduced by series creator and producer of the CoD: Modern Warfare series. So like CoD:MW and CoDMW2, CoD: Vietnam will focus heavily on the story, specifically the struggles of each individual person in your squadron.
According to our source, similar to how the original CoD titles modeled themselves after the direction and pacing of movies such as “Saving Private Ryan”, CoD: Vietnam will borrow from notable war films such as “Platoon”, “Apocalypse Now”, and “Full Metal Jacket”.

Thank F__K for that… I new they would step up and fix the game up, MW2 SUCKED HARD!!! I was hoping they would do this and I suggested that they might do Vietnam as no COD has yet touched on that conflict… Great news for all gamers, just hope that put in dedicated servers and mod support, please support the loyal gamer Treyarch

MW 1 and 2 still had smoother gameplay than WAW the maps are a little odd but the whole ww2 thing got old after COD3

MW2 has its ups and downs but maybe the new map packs will help……but ive been screaming 4 a COD vietnam ever since COD# cause the whole WW2 war games got old after 3 but i was really hoping that infanity ward would have picked it up caust lets face it MW and MW2 still plays better than anything Treyarch ever put out

I like all of the CoD games but when treyarch do oline multiplayer, they do it well, WaW was the best online experience for a shooter i have had, but unfortunately IW could have but didn’t take a lot of things from the WaW Multiplayer to make it better than it is, like SEARCH PREFERENCES for Example!!!! WTF

Men of Valor for the XBox was an awesome FPS covering the Viet-Nam war. Epic story mode and fantastic online mp, imagine what they could do now. It would be nice to see an FPS with some more depth, not something so clear cut as Nazis/Terrorists, KILL KILL. That's too easy and way over done.

What is beading? Beading is when water droplets try to turn themselves back into globes of water on a hydrophobic (water hating) surface. The more ‘upright’ the bead, the more water repellent the surface. I love how many people say MW2 sucks, yet at any time of day on XBOX360, there are at least 500,000 people playing. I've seen it get over 1M playing at the same time before. And thats just on XBOX360. So either there are just a few people going around talking about how much this game sucks, or they play it constantly even though they think it sucks. Either way, if you think MW2 sucks, then you're an idiot. I'm not saying it's alot better than MW1, but it's at least just as good. And yes, WAW is awesome, but it's made by a different company and it's based in WWII, and so it's just a matter of preference. I personally like using modern guns(which is why I'm confused about the Model 1887 being in MW2) and playing on modern maps. Although it would be fun to use modern guns on WAW maps.
